Lukashenko refused “crazy thoughts” to flee

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko he said he did not intend to run after his resignation. He said this at an extended session of the Constitutional Commission.

This is how he responded to the request of Commissioner Volodymyr Bask. After resigning, Lukashenko asked him to “try to remain in the role of guarantor of independence, peace and tranquility in Belarus,” BelTA said. As a result, the Belarusian leader stressed that “he has no crazy thoughts.” He added that he never ran anywhere and did not run.

In the meantime, he also proposed consolidating in the new constitution the right to make new changes to the basic law for the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, which is planned to gain constitutional status.

The President of Belarus also said that if he became the chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly (VNS), then only the people would be elected president of the republic and he was not the chairman of the VNS.
