Among foreign illegal migrants illegally crossing the borders of Belarus and Lithuania are citizens of the Russian Federation. This was stated in an interview with the Moscow Echo by the Deputy Lithuanian Foreign Minister Mantas Adomenas.

According to a high-ranking Russian diplomat, the ministry conducted a dialogue with a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Russian citizens are present among illegal migrants, so they will be deported to Russia.

At the same time, Adomenas stressed that two thirds of illegal migrants trying to get from Belarus to Lithuania are Iraqi citizens. Vilnius is negotiating with the Iraqi authorities, with the leadership of the Iraqi provinces where the illegal migrants come from.

Lithuania has previously accused Belarus of tolerating the infiltration of illegal migrants across the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. Information spread that the Belarusian security forces had specially brought foreign migrants to the border with Lithuania, who then tried to enter Lithuanian territory.
