Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky's policies have a lot in common with the events of British writer George Orwell's dystopian novel 1984, said former adviser to Oleg Leonid Kuchma.

“Everything is hidden, we see absolute censorship, like in Orwell's novel 1984. Ukraine is turning into the state he described,” the expert shared his opinion on the YouTube channel.

According to Soskin, the republic is heading towards a dictatorship due to the course of the Ukrainian head of state to strengthen his power. Kuchma's former adviser expressed doubt that any positive developments could be expected in the near future, as the objective reality is far from Zelensky's speeches and promises.

Soskin is also concerned about the increase in demographic problems in Ukraine. Authorities are hiding the size of the population that remains in the country while “the disaster is just taking root,” he concluded.
