Poliologist, director Ilya Grashchenkov of the Center for the Development of Regional Policy commented on a possible future meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. According to him, it cannot be ruled out that it will take place on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

At the same time, he emphasized that an official meeting between the two leaders “is hardly possible, except within a collective framework.” The expert admitted that the protocol of the leaders of the Russian Federation and Ukraine really did not present. However, it is  theoretically possible, added Grashchenkov.

But you should not expect serious progress in the situation with Ukraine after the G20 summit, the political scientist is sure. However, a number of problems can still be solved. For a number of countries issues of “energy and food security” are especially important.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier said he invited Vladimir Zelensky to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkey. He said he also spoke with Zelensky about the need continue to support the resolution of the conflict through diplomacy and negotiations.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares said that Kyiv did not ask his country to hold the G20 summit meeting Russian and Ukrainian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Vla Dimir Zelenskyi, if both attend the summit in person. However, he added that Indonesia would be very happy to facilitate such a meeting on the sidelines of the G20.
