State Duma Committee member responsible for defense Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev explained the requirements for the appearance of Russian soldiers participating in a special operation in Ukraine. According to the deputy, we are talking about “the basic requirements of military discipline”. These requirements are stated in the charter of the military service, the RBC agency quotes the general as saying.

“In the army, everything should be as it should be,” Sobolev emphasized. “That is the basic requirement of military discipline, a soldier must be a soldier.” The general agreed that special operations combat missions are a priority, noting that “in any of the most intense combat activities” a soldier can find “15-20 minutes to get his appearance right.”

– The soldier is looked up to by peaceful people, he should be a role model, – summed up the general. – If he walks unshaven and unshaven, then it does not distort him either as a person or as a soldier.

Viktor Sobolev also commented on the ban on personal gadgets in the NVO zone, which was previously reported by military correspondents. “You can't use a means of communication that makes a person a target for the enemy,” said the general, who served as deputy commander of a combined group of Russian troops in Chechnya for military operations in 2002 and then commanded the 58th Army. /p>

Recall that in January, a number of military correspondents reported that in the zone of special operations, inspectors of the Ministry of Defense began to impose punishments on commanders of combat units for bullying soldiers and officers. In addition, the use of personal gadgets, without which it is impossible to use drones and some other modern equipment, has been banned.

The ban, according to some reports, also affected the use of private cars (many of which officers fight using their own vehicles or SUVs donated by volunteers and pickups). This information was refuted by the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pušilin, and the commander of Pyatnasha, Akhra Avidzba.
